BROOKLYN JOAD YOUTH PROGRAM
Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) is a USA Archery program tailored to introduce, develop, and advance young archers in the sport. Whether a casual hobbyist or Olympic enthusiasts, participants benefit from increased confidence and discipline while having fun learning archery. JOAD programs across the USA have been successful in having kids put down the electronics and learn a new skill. Gotham Archery will run multiple concurrent JOAD programs and is open to students ages 8-20.
Our JOAD program offers compound, recurve, and traditional archers the opportunity to learn proper shooting techniques and range safety. Safety is our top priority at Gotham Archery. We have strict safety protocols in place, and archers are under constant supervision by our SafeSport-certified instructors. Archers will thrive in an environment that nurtures self-confidence, team-building skills, and the ability to focus on tasks. JOAD at Gotham Archery aims to allow our students to enjoy recreational and competitive archery, depending on their interests.
Gotham Archery’s JOAD program offers two distinct classes tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students. We believe in fostering a culture of growth and progression, ensuring that every student, regardless of their skill level, finds their perfect fit within our JOAD program.
Gotham Archery JOAD Class Options:
JOAD Club, our one-hour-long experience, is perfect for students who are new to archery or wish to do it recreationally. In this encouraging and supportive environment, all JOAD Club students will be exposed to each archery style offered at Gotham Archery while learning form and archery techniques each week. We aim to ignite and nurture each student’s passion for archery, ensuring they feel supported and encouraged every step of the way.
JOAD Advanced is our two-hour class option and is tailored for students who have some archery experience. Students will join a community of like-minded individuals, honing their techniques under the guidance of our JOAD instructors. While not a requirement, we encourage JOAD Advanced students to become USA Archery members. This membership makes them eligible to participate in sanctioned tournaments across the United States and to do monthly JOAD pin shoots. These pin shoots are a fun and challenging way for students to test their skills and earn recognition for their progress in archery.
